# MinerYield > Home and small-business ASIC profitability with solar, battery, and grid leftover-watt accounting. Model output only — estimates, not investment, financial, or tax advice, ROI guarantees, or live miner telemetry. Results vary with network difficulty, coin price, power cost, and hardware performance. Do your own research. Site: https://mineryield.com Setup: https://mineryield.com/ai OpenAPI: https://mineryield.com/swagger.yaml HTTP API: https://mineryield.com/api/v1/ ## MCP Two equivalent surfaces (same tools, no admin routes): 1. npm / npx stdio package `mineryield-mcp` (Node 22+) - `npx -y mineryield-mcp` - Source: https://github.com/nadeaup/mineryield-mcp - Env: `MINERYIELD_API_KEY` (required), `MINERYIELD_API_BASE_URL` (optional, default https://mineryield.com) - Create the key at https://mineryield.com/api while signed in. Do not commit it. 2. Hosted Streamable HTTP at https://mineryield.com/mcp - Header: `Authorization: Bearer ` - Dedicated Firebase function `mcp` (not the `api` function) Discovery JSON: https://mineryield.com/.well-known/mcp.json (also /mcp-discovery.json) ## Tools Authenticated (Authorization: Bearer API key): - list_miners — GET /api/v1/miners (optional solarW, batteryCapacity, zipCode, elecCost, solar, battery, grid query overrides) - get_rigs — GET /api/v1/rigs - calculate_profitability — POST /api/v1/calculator - get_market — GET /api/v1/market - get_solar_forecast — GET /api/v1/solar-forecast - get_difficulty_prediction — GET /api/v1/difficulty-prediction Public (no API key on REST; hosted MCP still requires a Bearer key): - list_catalog_miners — GET /api/v1/catalog/miners - list_mrr_rates — GET /api/v1/mrr-rates - list_nicehash_rates — GET /api/v1/nicehash-rates - get_market_data — GET /api/v1/market-data Admin HTTP routes (`/api/v1/admin/*`) and API-key CRUD (`/api/v1/api-keys`, Firebase ID token) are not MCP tools. ## Calculator body Required: hashrate, power, algorithm, elecCost. Optional: solarW (Watts, 10000=10 kW), zipCode (US PSH), hardwareCost, batteryCapacity (kWh), powerSources {solar, battery, grid}, preferredCoin. Same leftover-watt model as the site: solar covers Peak Sun Hours; leftover solar can charge batteryCapacity; leftover night hours use grid at elecCost when powerSources.grid is true. solar=true + grid=true + battery=false is "solar by day, grid at night". If grid=false the miner only runs while solar or battery energy lasts. Example — 10 kW array + 20 kWh battery, which miner wins: GET /miners?solarW=10000&batteryCapacity=20&solar=true&battery=true&grid=true and sort PROFIT/DAY. Example — 3 kW miner on solar by day, grid at $0.15/kWh at night: POST /calculator with power=3000, elecCost=0.15, solarW=, powerSources={solar:true, battery:false, grid:true}. Hashrate units match the catalog (TH/s for SHA-256 and Kadena, GH/s for NexaPow and XPHash, MH/s for Scrypt). ## Catalog coins and algorithms Algorithms: SHA-256, Scrypt, KHeavyHash, Eaglesong, SHA512256d, Blake2B, Blake2B-Sia, Blake2B-SHA3, Blake256R14, X11, Cuckatoo31, Cuckatoo32, Equihash, RandomX, SHA3X, Ethash4G, Blake3, zkSNARK, Kadena, NexaPow, XPHash. Coins (same allowlist as GET /api/v1/difficulty-prediction and CEV-DataHub symbols): BTC, BCH, LTC, DOGE, ZEC, KAS, CKB, RXD, SC, DCR, DASH, GRIN, ALPH, XTM, ETC, XMR, ALEO, HNS, BTCB2, KDA, NEXA, XP, QUAI, ARRR, OCTA, ETHW, QKC, MWC, SCP. GET /api/v1/market returns spot prices for that full DataHub set when the collector has a quote. When preferredCoin is omitted, the most profitable supported coin is used (SHA-256: BTC/BCH/QUAI; Blake2B: BTCB2/SC; Blake2B-Sia: SC/BTCB2; Equihash: ZEC/ARRR; Blake256R14: DCR/SCP) except Ethash4G, which defaults to ETC (OCTA/ETHW/QKC remain opt-in). Blake2B-SHA3 is HNS only (Goldshell Blake2b+SHA3). Cuckatoo31 is MWC only (DataHub Cuckatoo31 / WTM 323 / MWC-CT31). Cuckatoo32 is GRIN only. Scrypt reports LTC/DOGE (merged). preferredCoin must be in coinsForAlgorithm(algorithm) or the calculator returns HTTP 400. A saved My Rigs preferredCoins value overrides ranking until the user changes the dropdown and saves. Goldshell HS-Lite is one catalog id (`hs-lite`) with dual `modes`: Blake2B-SHA3 (official 1.36 TH/s @ 1250 W, HNS only) and Blake2B (official 2.9 TH/s @ 700 W, SC/BTCB2 via coinsForAlgorithm). Saved `preferredAlgos` selects the mode. Legacy ids `hs-lite-sc` and `hs-lite-blake2b` remap to `hs-lite` + Blake2B. XP revenue is unavailable when DataHub hashRate or blockReward is null — do not invent values. NexaPow maps to the MRR `nexapow` book. SHA3X, zkSNARK, Blake256R14, Kadena, and XPHash have no primary MRR or NiceHash paying book.
